The 181 and 182 garage models have television mounted on an articulated arm but the 177 and 178 models have fixed televisions.  In our 178, watching a program from the dinette was a little awkward if you weren't on the door side.
I looked on the Forest River web site and found a list of components/suppliers and then found a company that sells the very same mount used in the garage models.  So I bought on and installed it.Smile

Very nice!  I really wish the 171 had the wall system there by the front door like your 178 does.

The TV in the 176 is also fixed.  That arm is on my wish list!  Do you happen to have the link to it?

Hi Capt.  Here is the link:

http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/flat-panel-lcd-tv-wall-mount-bracket-with-double-swing-arm-extension-141.html

I didn't relocate the original mount so it put my television about 4" higher on the wall, but there was plenty of room.

Thank you! Good idea moving it up a bit.  My issue is that the HDMI & Aux plugs are not accessible when it's stuck so close to the wall.

I did the same with our 178 using a swing arm from Best Buy. Put it with a 19 inch TV/DVD combo where the DVD is inserted from the top. That way you swing the TV out to stick in the DVD. The TV swings out as we drive so I want to put a tether on it so I don't have to take it off the arm every time we break camp.

I've removed the Jenson LCD wall mount on my Rpod 171...but can't figure out how to remove the wall mount plate that's left. Here's a photo of it.....

the first thing I would try is removing the 2 plugs over the screw holes.. then unscrewing the mount.

I tried prying them off, but they did not appear to be removable....didn't want to gouge up the whole thing. I'll try again.

Thanks...got 'em off, thanks...only to reveal the mount is attached with square-headed screws/bolts. Guess I gotta go buy a square-headed screwdriver now, LOL

Alot of your internal Pod screws are the square type.

...wish they'd used square screws to hold the plywood down under the mattress...those sharp-edged deck screws might cut my new mattress, guess I'll cut a sheet of tarp to match the area before putting the mattress down.

On the 2014 178, the t.v. over the bed has been removed and replaced with one on a swivel arm by the door. We won't have to be making that modification.  Big smile

I chose to use an under cabinent swivel mount...I didn't want to puncture the walls. I have a 19' tv that swivels to view anywhere in the pod. Just flip it up to use the sink :-)

In our 179 we can't watch tv in bed because the mount has no adjustment to get the vertical angle right...it can swing all over horizontally to see it from bed or dinette.
Without the vertical angle right it is like watching a color negative.

I'm already unhappy about my tv having it a sticker that says it works on 12V and it does not, now this...
Did no one at FR ever lie in the bed and see if the tv is viewable?

When I call FR customer service about the tv not being 12v I'll also ask about sending me the correct type of mount as well.Ouch

Wow an American Manufacturer that uses Robertson screws. We have used square heads in Canada for years. Never caught on in the States I guess. They were the best screws for power driving until torx came along.

I agree, I prefer square or torx, still not sure torx is better.

Never caught on in the states?  LOL  Every RV I've owned in the last 40 years has used them.....
I like them ok, I don't particularly like the ones they make as a combo phillips and square drive-   they seem to easily tear up using either driverOuch

It is easier to get a Robertson screw on the bit but when I am torqing the screw down I find I am less likely to strip the torx out. But for wood screws up to 1 1/2 inches Robertson all the way.

Agree The combination screws give you the worst of both types. This is my first RV so I did not know that the RV Industry had adopted the square drive as a whole.

Did you ever get hold of Forest River on the 12V aspect and the crappy wall mount?   We have the same problem.

Are you all saying the TV won't work on the 12 volt outlet?

If you are asking me then no I haven't talked  to FR yet-
Not sure I will, according to several posters on this forum calling FR directly will result in immediate extinction of all two legged life forms on planet Earth.LOL

I have emailed Jensen back asking for a swap of my tv that was labeled as a 12v model when it isn't.

As for the wall mount I'm just going to get the oxy/acetylene out and put the proper angle on the armOuch

If it is a 110V only tv like mine then, no it won't work on 12v.
Some come with a 12v tv and some come with a 110v one.
My issue was mine was labeled as 12v but is in fact not a 12v one.

I want to mount my tv in the 178. It feels like there is a solid wall behind the panel. Can I just screw the mount anywhere in that area?
Thanks

The TV mount on our 2014 177 was manufactured by L & W engineering and uses a KEBLOC wall mount. L&W Engineering sells a replacement mount which tilts and uses the same KEBLOC wall mount. The cost is approx $175 for part 1019451. The new mount has an elbow rather than a long arm so is more adjustable. With the new mount, the TV is best stored with the screen facing the wall.

I used this.... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MX3958/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005MX3958/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.....

The bracket can be "tweeked-spread" to fit on the existing arm.A bench vise and Big Cresant wrench do the trick.Sand and repaint black.

Just remove the bolt from the new mount and discard the wall bracket and bolt.

Fit to go over the existing arm using the original existing bolt. Tighten the prevailing Torque nut just enough so it can still swivel. The new bracket matches the holes in the Jenson TV as well.

Viola,TV can now tilt down or up to any position.

You will probably have to install the TV mount at the corner of the wall where there is sure to be some wood studs.

If you can gain access somewhere to see where the wall studs are located in the field of the wall, that would work too.

The wall covering itself is just too thin to hold up any substantial weight.
