Bob, I have the model RVS-770612W from Rear View Safety. Not yet installed because my Pod is off being worked on, but I did try it out and seems to work fine. Color CCD camera, about 130 degree field of view, 7 inch color monitor, and wireless. I was skeptical of a wireless unit, but I tried it out in the driveway and it worked great. With the camera inside the pod and the monitor inside the garage 65 feet away it worked fine. I think RVS has changed models so you might have to search, but the RVS cameras and monitors were highly rated in several magazine comparisons. They also have a wired version designed especially for RVs. Her's a similar unit: http://www.rearviewsafety.com/wireless-backup-camera-system.html I plan to mount the camera inside the pod looking out the back window. Better for weather and theft issues. Just hook up 12V in the pod and 12V in the TV and you're on the air. The nighttime infrared will not work through the window, but I don't plan to back up the pod at night anyway. If I have to, that's what wives are for. Definitely interested in this subject, I started looking a month or two ago but other things took priority. I'd like to find a wireless model which I can transfer from the back of the pod to the back of the TV when I'm not towing.

I have one I think is called I Baller. The rear unit has a magnet base and holds tight to the trailer hitch. the inside unit has a cigar lighter male plug in. you plug it in to the cigar lighter socket, the neck up to the screen is flexable chrome goose neck, the screen is small but is clear and in color. You can see quite well with it, it takes some getting used to as things are backwards as you back up. also you could put it on the rear of the pod and watch as you back into a camping space. Guess I should have read the post more carefully. I can't speak on the market for hookup cams since mine is built in to my TV. My camera application was for a rear view camera to see behind the pod while driving down the road. Doug: The wireless unit from RVS should work for you if you add a magnet to mount the camera near the hitch.  I bought a "magnetic base" wireless backup camera and had mixed results. The camera requires 12VDC external power. I plugged it into my Pickup rear end. It worked great for backing up and hitching on the Pod. However, when I connected it to the rear of the Pod (for campsite backing)...the camera worked only about 1/4 of the time. I never could figure out if the amperage at the rear of the Pod was too low to power the camera...or if the transmitter on the camera just couldn't broadcast through the Pod and into the pickup.You need to find out if you can return the camera system if it doesn't work for your rig! ------------- TIDALWAVE |

Use the I Baller with the Dakota to hitch up with, the Durango has the back up cam. Haven't tried the I Baller behind the pod yet when backing.
