The 178 has no 12 v lot connections and we will be dry campinga a lot and would like to install one. The fuse box is just to the left on a panel as you step into the trailer, and there is an empty spot to install one or two wall sockets just to the left. And the fuse box has got lots of empty slots.

So what do I do, other than give $150 to the dealer and have them do it? Any YouTube or DIY  tutorials?
Thanks.....

There are several threads on 12volts in the forum.  Just be sure to change the date to "anydate versus 6 months"

I've had my 172 for several years so I can advise you on your fuse box just in case they have changed model.  You just need to check yourself.  That being said, I had two empty slots, and ran one under the bath/shower to next to the bed, and ran another under the floor to above the kitchen sink (used a cable puller and followed the existing wires).  (I couldn't tell you right now what guage wire or anything like that, I'm the person the bugs the home depot or lowes guy and let them give me the right stuff.

Good Luck

I'm surprised to hear that the 178's don't have 12v connections already.  Seeing as the previous new models the 18x series had them added.

We added two on our 177. Used wire taps and stole power from the propane detector in the front, and the heater blower motor in the rear.

Yeah the dealer didn't believe it either. We went through a 178 the had on the lot and looked in every nook and cranny.....none. But for $150 he'll get one put in.
