My front and rear decals are coming off.  So I sent an email to Forest River asking if I got a new set and then had some clear coat sprayed on them would that stop them from curling up.  I got an answer back right away explaining that the problem is the curvature of the body.  She went into a lot of detail about it.  Then she forwarded it to someone else in the Warranty Department.

Terry our 171 the decals this last year are forming bubbles under the decals. I have been using a pin to puncture a hole and work the air pocket out. I was just up your way yesterday at Dick Gores RV looking at a Evergreen ever-lite camper. I have learned to appreciate more the construction of the Rpods.    David

why is it that the decals that Forest River uses on the R-PODS are prone to removing themselves while decals placed on other cars, trucks and/or trailers are in place for decades, fading long before they ever let go. When not in use r'POD is always under the cover but last year I noticed one spot that was loose at the end, I think that I may try a small spot of super glue to keep it down when I take the cover off.   Goose

We removed our front decals just a few months after purchasing our 177 last year.So far the rest of the decals are ok.  I don't miss the ones on the front.  The POD looks fine without them  It would look rather barren if all the decals were removed. If that happens I will be tempted to pay an artist I know to paint a mural on the POD, or perhaps a design similar to the decals.

I don't know for sure but it might be the surface. I think the pod has a jell coat finish. I have see the decals on fibreglass boats come off too. Cars and aluminum sided trailers have baked enamel finishes.

I've gone through two sets of decals on my 2009 RPOD (replaced under warranty).  The decals on the curves have split and then started to peel off.  The decals on the straight sides are original and still in mint condition.

This spring, they're looking very bad once again.  Frankly, I've had enough and am just going to take the decals on the curves off once the weather warms up.

So far I have had no problem with Decals peeling. Ours is a 2011 RP-172. The build date is 10/2010. The only thing I do is wax it twice a year with Magauries Carnubra wax. I don't think the wax makes any difference, my guess is the bad old Sun. I also talked to Susan and got an additional "Frog peeking around the corner " and put it on the upper right corner on the rear glass. It's kinda different and only cost 20 or so bucks.

While you're waiting for your decals to peel, you can watch my SECOND set of decals self distruct:

After four hours of work with a heat gun on Sunday afternoon, they're now gone, leaving a very difficult to remove sticky residue.  GooGone is working, but with a lot of elbow grease.
