I don't care if it snows , blows, or rains. I am going to de winterize the pod this weekend. In southern Indiana I think we will be ok. I am ready to pull out, even if its only a one nighter. We are forcast to freeze this weekend. If it looks safe after that I may do the same thing, Last year we had eight days in by now :(

Mine's coming out of hibernation this weekend. I was scheduled to be camping this weekend but had to put it off a week. This will be the second awakening for my pod this year. We took it to the Smokies in February for some cold weather camping. I am ready to hit the road! TT |

Here in Portland,OR., the weather has moderated and even stopped raining. We dewinterized 2 weeks ago and yesterday I removed the cover. Sunday the Pod gets a bath and the following Thursday we head out for a week to a southern Oregon beach. Wahoo!! Safe Travels. ------------- Camper Bob and Camper Sue Gracie the Wonder Dog (12 LB. Have fun at Castaways! It was our favorite campground when it was still Eagle's Nest. Haven't dewinterized yet here in Eastern Washington. It was 21 degrees a couple of nights ago. We did take our first trip of the season though. We spent a couple of nights at Steamboat Rock State Park on Banks lake. Enjoyed lots of hiking, especially in Northrup Canyon. No kayaking this time though. It was too cold and windy for that. Finished the de winterizing process today, drained fresh water tank with bleach solution, filled tank, let set 24 hours with fresh water, all lines flushed clean, all systems are go. fire up the furnace, water heater on gas and electric, stove , fridge, The next big decision is where to go first. ------------- Dane and Donna Smith 2011 RP-172 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer 4X4 lift kit prodigy wireless brake controller |

Yeah, hate to rub salt in the wounds of our Northern Brotheren; but I don't even winterize my POD. I camp mostly in Fall/Winter/Spring and cover it up for the summer. Been out with the grandkids 9 weekends since Halloween ! They are starting to get deadly with their airsoft guns; I come back looking like I have 1000 bites; those darn things hurt.....Camp by the prettiest trout stream in North Georgia. Ya'll can come to Northern MI where most of the snow has melted, but we still have 2-3 foot tall glaciers in the woods. We even got up to the mid 60's today, feels great to breathe the clean air blowing off the cool lake today.

We were going to try to make it next weekend but it looks like the weather is going in the dumps again next weekend. I think last year our first time out was Mothers day week end. looking like that's the way it is again. I really like cool crisp mornings with the temps getting up into the 60's or low 70's during the day.
