Welcome to the forum! I never leave home without the coffeepot for morning and cold adult beverages for the evening. Also, a good lawn chair to sit around the fire. Lastly, don't forget firestarter of some kind. A wonderful time awaits you.

Welcome Loampey, Don't forget, Can Opener and cold beer. LOL. Actually Donna and I stock all the little things you are likely to forget, and leave them in the pod year round. can opener, matches, alum foil, all your cooking hardware, 2 flashlights. paper pad and pen ( to make notes of what to bring next time) C.D.'s , DVD's .Ohh bug spray. In the back in the storage I keep a plastic storage container with a folding saw, rope, fire starters, hatchet, lug wrench for the wheels. ohh and a fly swatter. a small broom so Donna can sweep the floor 10 times a day. Good grief we are going to have to get a bigger pod.

Leveling blocks! I can't sleep when the trailer's not level and it's bad for your absorption fridge to be off level. Also, the stabilizing jacks on the Pods aren't really heavy duty enough do do much leveling. The newer Pods do have jacks that are a little better than the older ones like mine.

Do you use 4G for CONECTION?

Also, what site do you use to find Walmarts that allow you overnite stays? Someone told me you have to call and speak to the mgr ... What's been your experience ?

Many thanks ....

I have a first generation iPad...one of the first. It is 3G, and works beautifully. I just do a store search via the Wal-Mart website. Always a good idea to call and ask from the road before you get there.

We are planning a lengthy trip, and I called several stores along our route. Not one said no. All said longer than one night is inappropriate and not allowed. Fine by me. Who wants to vacation in a parking lot?! We have our Wal-Mart nights figured out, and will start the trip soon.

Anyway...always best to ask. I haven't been told no yet...but, that's not to say it won't happen.

I appreciated what one employee told me...she said Sam Walton viewed RVers as his best customers, and they would always be welcome to a safe place to grab a few hours of sleep.

+1 on the call-ahead, we've done that on trips in the past.  We also use the web site to find the closest store and then call before we get to the exit.  We have a 3-week trip planned for this summer and 1/3 of those nights will be at Walmarts or similar like Flying J's.

Gin, Vermouth, Tonic, Limes & Olives ... G & T's for her, Martinis for me.  Anything else, as was said earlier, can be worked around or found locally without too much hassle.  But when cocktail hour strikes I better be prepared!

And welcome ... you'll love the 171.  We do!
