I'm new here, so I apologize if this has been covered before. I looked around but haven't found quite what I'm looking for. I've just been taking a look around our new 177 getting it ready to winterize. My water pump is under the sink at the bottom of my slide out. To access it I have to remove a panel of cheap, well, paneling. Has anyone replaced this panel with a hinged door? That would work much better for me and save me from removing the screws twice a year to winterize / dewinterize, since I think they'll wear out after a few years. I'm not really great at woodworking, so I'm looking for a fairly simple, but long-lasting, solution. Thanks! ------------- Amanda and Steve Trouble (our non-camping kitty) Lily Pod (2013 R-Pod 177) |

There is no doubt you could add a door there. If you take the dimensions of the clear opening with you, many hardware stores have pre made doors in many sizes, and you may get lucky and find one. Any cabinet shop can knock one out in short order. You don't need to remove the panel to de-winterize.. so there you go if nothing else I just lowered your work load by 50%. ------------- |

| We just removed it and never replaced it. It wasn't doing much anyways except robbing extra free space. I store the toilet chemicals and water filters down there. |

I just realized that on the 177 the paneling you're referring too is probably on the outside... so I can see why you'd want to put it back again  On the 171 it's already inside the cabinet and the paneling is just a divider within on section of the cabinet. Could you add magnets or velcro to make a "tool-less" removal?

You can put a door where ever you want. I have a 172 and put in a door to the pump, the hot watertank and the storage under the seat in the dinette. ------------- If you want something done right, do it yourself. 2011 RP172, 2016 Tundra 5.7 Litre, Ltd. |
