We have found that there is a beeping/honking when using the propane stove/furnace/gas hot water heater. When we asked our dealer, they said that "was just the way it is", does anyone else have that problem or has there been a fix that my dealer doesn't know about. Appreciate any help or direction.

Sounds like a noisy pressure regulator to me. Check outside by the gas tank when it's making the noise or put your hand on the regulator to see if it's the source. Luckily it's cheap and easy to replace.

bham is on the dot, does the noise come from the stove or the regulator, try tapping on the regulator to see if the tone changes, there is a diaphram in there that might be vibrating, also make sure the vent hole in the regulator does not have a mud dobber nest or other bug plugging the hole, it has to breath for the diaphram to move.

I just realized from the title of your post that you already suspect the pressure regulator. So no, this is not normal for it to make noise. I'm not sure if they're serviceable, but maybe you can get your dealer to exchange it since it was delivered that way.

Many of the early pods had problems with noisy regulators under high load, we had to get ours replaced.

You have a 2010, as do I.  I've read about an issue with these and many have had them replaced under warranty.  Unfortunately, I had never known about this issue, never had mine replaced, but do now have the issue.  I think they're less than $20 for a replacement, from what I've read.  If you're still under warranty, call your dealer.

Hey all,

I put in a new two stage regulator today, still had the honking/vibrating. Then I switched the tank with the 20 lb tank from our Weber grill and the honking was gone. Hooked the other one up to the Weber and it works find.
Thank you for your responses, we are heading down to Cape Hatteras next week, can't wait!

So the tank itself was making the noise? Maybe something loose in the valve?

Yeah, seemed to center more in the connection of the pigtaikl and the open/close valve on the top of the tank. That particular tank seems to be working fine now hooked up to the Weber grill....maybe less of a draw? not sure......but everything works quietly now so we are happy! We are towing down to the KOA in Rodanthe, NC for a month so we wanted everything working well. We usually hit the Flying J in Maryland on our first night, so we use the gas for the stove and water heater.

I'm not that familiar with the internals of the tank valve, but I do remember there being a feature where it shuts off if the gas is escaping too rapidly (in a leak scenario). Maybe that mechanism is responsible. I can't imagine the valve itself making noise unless there was something loose.

Odd.
