I am finished with all of the Mods that I believe I am going to do, now it is time to sit back and relax. Up front I replaced the battery strap with metal straps and a quick release, the strap was worn and missing some stitching by the clasp.This is way easier to get the battery in and out and more secure. Next I have been looking for a while for a utility box to go next to the battery up front to hold misc. stuff,the sewer elbow and the clear end that I put on the end of the hose so as to know when the tank is clean. I found this file box at Office Depot that fits perfect, only had to cut part of the corner and cut a slot in the bottom to fit over the angle iron that it sits on. The sewer tube I moved last fall after dragging it on the ground in the yard making it unusable. I also picked up another 7-way recepticle to mount on the front so the cord does not lay out in the weather, I pack it with dielectric grease so that the terminals will not corrode. This I found for a couple of dollars at a store that sells alot of surplus goods and has a lot of trailer parts. I also ran two wires to the battery from the 7-way with alligator clips on the ends and can turn on the running lights when plugged in, all running lights are now LED. I swichted out the propane tank nylon hold down strap for a chain, but I am still looking for a good quick release to put on it. Added front upper corner clearance lamps that are the same style as the ones that I used on the rear light bar. Terri likes the inside without any type of changes, she did make curtains for the windows on either side of the bed last year and added a small fan to move some air over the bed. She did have me put up the steer horns by the door to hang our keys on. One Mod that I wanted to do last year and just finished putting together was a rock guard on the back of the Jeep, it really works better than I thought that it would in the one time that we have used it over Labor Day. It keeped the water from tires on the Jeep from hitting the front of the POD. I had to make a bracket that mounts to the frame on each side of the Jeep and the rock guard slides into a channel then locks in place with a couple of hitch pins. How are the brackets for the hose and the 7pin adaptor fixed to the frame?
I like the idea of the adaptor receptacle. I just replaced my plug because it was corroded and I wasn't getting juice to my trailer brake. I went to 2" black industrial Velcro for battery strap for my two group 24 6V boxes. We have only been off road once, I just did not like the strap on the battery and a lot less after I saw that it was coming apart. The brackets for the 7-way I drilled a hole into the frame and used self-tapping screws. The brackets for the hose tube are 3/4 inch steel strap that I welded to the frame, after doing that I figured out that just drilling a hole and tapping it for a 1/4 inch bolt into the frame which I did is all that is needed as the other end has a 1/4 inch bolt and nut to hold it in place.
