We have been there several times as non-campers, but now that we will have our EscapePod we would like to know who has had the pleasure of their campgrounds.

(Plus, and I mean PLUS, I get to have lunch at the GA Pig before I hit the causeway!)

Bob, we just found out the GA Pig is closed down.  We have a friend who just drove down here and stopped there to eat.  It is for sale....very sad.

Well that is NOT good news!

(Was it Lynn who tried to stop there?)

Plus, it will be a hard sell, IMO.  Great BBQ, but a building only the old owners could love.  I'm not sure it would pass a new health inspection!

Still interested in any opinions about camping on Jekyll.  Great little golf course just by the ocean.

PS-  Just noticed the post by TerryM below.  I didn't mean to be repetitive! Embarrassed

Jekyll Isalnd is a great place to camp. bring bikes as the biking paths are wonderful. Be sure to go to the Jekyll Island Turtle Center. We were there last year.

We have heard that the bicycling was a major attraction, and our 'Pod is due to be delivered with a bike rack, so thanks for your recommendation!
