Just returned from our five week trip to the west coast from South Carolina.  We travelled over 10,000 miles, visited 22 states, a lot of national and state parks.  Favorites include Custer State Park, Yellowstone, Glacier, and Columbia River Gorge.  No issues with our Pod.  Thanking God for a safe and problem free trip.

BTW, We only saw three other R-Pods while on this trip.  One was parked across from us at a campground in Nashville, one was seen in Yellowstone and the other was on the road in Port Angeles, WA.

I'll be very interested to hear the details.  My family did a 5-week trip around the US when I was a kid, now we are now planning a series of shorter trips over the next few summers to fit it all in with our kids.

Techntrek,

After leaving SC, our first stop was in Nashville, TN.  We spent two days in Nashville and toured the city and The Hermitage.  After two travel days of about 450 miles each day, we arrived in Custer State Park, South Dakota.  We stayed two days in Custer and could have stayed longer.  On the way to Yellowstone, we stayed one night in Cody, WY.   Could have stayed longer in Cody.  Three days at Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. Next, Glacier National Park.  If you like hiking and we do, it is a great place to spend some time. On the way to Olympia National park, we spent a night in Spokane.  Olympia was ok, but it was a lot of driving to get to different areas.  It was a hundred miles of slow, hilly driving to our campground after a stop at the Visitor's Center.  We then spent a day visiting Seattle.  We spent two days at Ainsworth State Park in the Columbia River Gorge Area.  We loved this area.  From here, we traveled to the Great Basin National Park, Salt Lake City, Glen Canyon near Paige AZ, Alburqueque, NM, and Carlsbad National Park.  We then made our way back home with a several day stop in Texas to visit my daughter.  We stopped one night near New Orleans, but Issac encouraged us to move on quickly.  We had a great time.

On your 450 mile days, was that about your limit or did you decide ahead of time to do that length?  Where did you stay in Yellowstone?  I've heard its best to stay within the park even though it can be hard to get a spot.

450 mpd was predetermined.  Probably could do more, but didn't want to push it.  We were not able to find a spot in Yellowstone so we stayed at Grizzly RV park in West Yellowstone.  Nice park just outside the western entrance to the park. A little pricey.

Sandcamper, where did you stay/hike in Olympic Nat. Park? We live about 75 miles south of the park and have spent much time there over the years. My best memory of the park was sea kayak camping around Lake Ozette for a week. And, yes, access to many different areas in the park is not easy. Incidently, we've towed our RP175 through Port Angeles a couple times this summer, so maybe your sighting was us.

Kickstart, we camped at Kalaloch and had a very small site.  We took a couple of long walks on the beach and hiked in the Hoh rain forest.  We were in Port Angeles around August 1or 2.

Hi,
Last year we did a huge southern west trip. We did the Grand Circle out in Utah/Colorado which included the Grand Canyon, The Grand Staircase, Zion, Bryce, Capital Reef, Canyonlands, The Arches, Great Sand Dunes, and Mesa Verde. We had a large camper trailer so our gas expenses were horrible. So glad we now have an RPod!!
