Well ...our 177 turns one year old in October. With our camping season starting to wind down I was thinking about the different levels of preventative maintanance. Decided to call our dealer down in the Denver area. Turns out, the two most common procedures that they perform (presuming all other subsystems in the camper are working properly) are the "Axle/Wheel Bearing" and "Propane Leak" inspections and repairs.
Since I did my own propane testing throughout the season I decided to go ahead and have the axle and wheel bearings serviced. Not a horendous expense, considering all the enjoyment we've had in our Pod so far this season. While I'm at it I am having them sell me some replacement bearing/hub parts, which could be hard to come by if we ever broke down on the road. I did a visual inspection of all the caulking on the roof and sides before winter. Snow and ice can do a job on them over the winter. Not as important if you store indoors or live in the sunny south.

While on the topic though, what do you and others use for caulking ? ...I was thinking about using an exterior rated white silicon based caulking. I just had a small section of the trim that had to be re-caulked this spring and I used Pro Flex which is an exterior sealant because I had some. They make one especially for RVs but I have not used it. I don't like silicon because It cures hard and when it does it can crack and pull away . I have had better luck with sealants that don't cure solid but stay flexible and sticky. The surface skins over but the calking stays flexible.
