Seems that storm watching at the coast during the winter months is quite fascinating.  We are looking to do some camping on the Oregon coast during the storm season, and were wondering if anyone had some input on what campgrounds to stay at.  It was suggested that the month of November is the time to go.  Any suggestions from any one who has done it?  Safe Travels.

While it has been a few years since we lived and camped in the NW, our most favorite spot on the Oregon Coast by far is Beverly Beach State Park.  It is just a few miles north of Newport and takes online reservations these days (back then it was first-come-first-served).  The campground is on the land side of Hwy 101, is very large and is very sheltered with a lot of trees that provide great windbreak.  There is a walkway & tunnel that go from the campground under the Hwy and comes out straight onto the beach which is gorgeous.  November is usually a good time for the start of storm-watching season, and you can pretty much count on it lasting until early February.

Have fun if you go!

Thanks for the info.  I also spoke with the Oregon Travel Bureau and they suggested Nehalem Bay.  Will check it out when we are in Seaside in Sept.  Safe Travels.
