Excited and waiting for next weekend...have a family trip planned to Door County with the family for 5-days.  We love Door County and this will be our first time camping it and our longest trip in the Pod.

We have reservations at Frontier Wilderness Campground in Egg Harbor.

Has anyone camped there?  Any opinions to share?

Thanks in advance.

X

We tend to camp on Washington Island when we go to Door County, but Egg harbor is great.  Don't miss Al Johnson's and say hi to the goats on the roof.

Goats on the roof, that sounds like a 60's rock band.

I need to plan better for Washington Island...that does look great.  Which campground(s) do you recommend?

Washington Island only has one campground, named washington Island Campground.  They nearly alwasy have open sites, both water and electric and primitive.  They have accomodations for horses, and are building more things for kids to do.  The current owners are great, and the campgrounds get better each time we go.  An R-Pod travels round trip on the ferry for $30 more than the regular ticket, and the staff on the ferry is great about guiding trailers on and off.  Fair warning: first time over and back no problem. Last time on the return trip the back stabilizer jack hooked on something and was ruined getting on the ferry.  I will have risers before we go back.

Thanks Keith....perhpas I can plan a few days on the Island next year.

The ferry cost is less than I was thinking it would be.  Already have the risers...I bet that was not fun.

I heard the crunch but didn't realoze the extent of the damage until I got home.  It only cost $45.00 for a new jack, and about a half hour to remove and replace the broken one.  It was not as bad as it could have been.
