Hi, we looked at R-pods and wanted one like the RP-171 but instead of a queen bed have the camper smaller and make the bed an expandable. Also, why can't there be a window where the dining room table is instead of that solid wall?

We have the 171 and would not enjoy it if the bed was smaller, not sure what you mean about having the bed expandable?  We have never thought about a window in the front, I would think that one like they put across the back could be put up front but you would want to have some kind of cover made for it to protect it when you travel down the road.   Goose

I think that a window on the front wall would have to be curved which would make it a custom manufacturing job which would be expensive to do. ON the back there is a relatively flat section to put a window on. I have a 173 which they don't make anymore it has a folding couch where the bed is and the bathroom and the kitchen are on opposite walls.

Welcome joyce. I agree with you about having a window up front (I would move the rear window up, I dont want light when I'm trying to sleep). The answer I received on that is they were worried about leaks. Im sure cost is the real reason, since so many other campers have them up front. With protective covers to guard againt road debris.

They made smaller 15x models for a year or two, although the model that is comparable to the 171 still has a queen bed.

I also agree with this idea. we have been sitting at the dinette and wished we had a porthole even to see what is going on outside ahead of the pod.
