Goose: I have a 3 to 5% slope on my driveway, no problem. When my wife needs the car, I just hook up push the pod down the driveway, she drives out her car and I pull the pod back up.

Very sweet.  If I had an extra couple of grand I would build an electric pusher for my car, partly just for the fun of building it.  I figure it would increase my MPGs by 50%.

Did you salvage the motor from something?

Doug: I bought a trailer dolly from princess auto on sale for 300$. It is a very poor design and very insufficient for my purpose. It would not even push the trailer down the driveway over a 1/2" lip, because the weight was distributed over 3 wheels. I used the parts from the dolly, made and bought others and by trail and error  came up with this design. Total cost about 550$, consider this thow with this dolly I can manoeuvre the pod through a gate behind the garage with 4" of clearense and save 80$ a month on rent for storage.

I also geared down the speed from 24 to 14' per minute for more torque.

Does anyone have a recommendation for an electric dolly that DOESN'T require a PhD to make functional?
