Should be fun!!

Looking forward to it. I hear there is good hiking at Table Rock State Park, as well as kayaking and a zipline nearby.

It is “just” six months away now, and something our parents told us that seems to be true is that time goes faster as we “mature”.  Never too early to start thinking about it!

A patient’s father lives just south of Branson and said this was the nicest winery/tasting garden in Branson:

He also has Ziplined here:

A hiker friend recommended, Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area:

Lake Tannycomo will be more quiet than Table Rock on a holiday weekend:

Along with shopping, shows, restaurants, Silver Dollar City . . . there should be something for everyone. I am really looking forward to it (although several patients have said that it will be crowded/busy that weekend.

Another also suggested, if you are driving in from the north and want to miss the heaviest traffic to cut off Highway 65 on the Ozark Mountain Parkway to go to the campground area. I haven’t looked at the map yet, it was just suggested.

It was a wonderful event, I know we enjoyed the long weekend! We Zip Lined for the first time, and did some hiking along the shores of Table Rock Lake, others spent time at Silver Dollar City, and shopping in Branson. The best time, for Tina and I, was just spending time with R-podding friends, renewing friendships and making new ones. Our dinners together were FABULOUS! One couple from Iowa, two from Missouri and one from Arkansas made a great group. We will be together again at Weston Bend State Park, near Kansas City over Labor Day . . .and maybe again next year at Branson!  Pictures, if interested, at: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/582878221fHZSHk - http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/582878221fHZSHk

This particular trip was a set of 4 zip lines, starting at a platform about 70 feet off the ground reached by crossing a series of swinging bridges (also great fun) from the side of a mountain (high hill). The lines then go from platform to platform, the longest (I am just estimating was around 100 yards). They said speeds were around 50 mph. Coming into each platform, there is a brake on the line and one of the two guides on each trip helps you land . . . really pretty easy, just lift your feet. The guide really wants you to land well, because if you don't, and you slide out to the low point of the line, they have to come out and retrieve you. No one even came close to that in our group of 11. The hardest part is the first step off the first platform, and they tell you just to sit in your sling and lift your legs . . .gravity takes over from there and ZZZIP, you are on the way. There are several in Branson, this one was recommended to me by two friends who had done several of them: http://www.BransonZipline.com - www.BransonZipline.com  . Hope you can try one sometime!
