So. . .having dutifully read all the warnings about the dangers of using the propane tank, I sucessfully lit the burners on the stove - just checking them out and to get the gas flowing through the lines -- I remembered that much from my orientation.

 

Next goal -- turn on the furnace.  After re-reading the manual and searching through the posts here, I turned the wall thermostat  control from Off to Heat.  Then I bumped the thermostat up from coldest towards warmer. . .the blower came on. . .then heard clicking sound. . .then after a minute or so had warm air blowing out.   Then I turned the wall control back to off, the blower continued running for a minute or so, then shut itself off.

 

Is it really that easy?  Have I neglected some vital step that's going to cause a middle of the night explosion?  Not too concerned this moment because I'm turning off the gas for the night -- it's supposedly going to get down to 31 degrees here, but the Pod is retaining heat nicely and it's really pretty toasty inside. 

 

Thank you for being a welcoming forum that allows me to ask what probably seems (to some) a no-brainer kind of question.  Yes, I have a post-graduate college degree -- but when it comes to common sense mechanical stuff, I'm afraid I dropped out in about 1st grade!
