I just got an e mail from Parts Lady at forest River you can order the Diamond plate for around $86.00 and the top trim piece for $9.40. You can see what it looks like if you goggle r pod Hobbs River Edition. she said it screws on, I am thinking this would be a nice edition, as I am sure in time the front of the Pod will be stone chipped and discolored from the gel coat being chipped over time. I am concerned about weight, I am adamant about keeping the weight as low as possible. 3M also makes a product that car dealers sell to protect the paint on the hoods of cars and trucks. It is clear and when applied you really cant see it. I would consider that if you are concerned about weight. I used to have a motorcycle trailer with the diamond plated stone shield on the front and it got dull and was hard to keep it looking nice in time. ------------- sjf |

Good tip Fish, thanks, that sounds likea viable idea. I like the look of the Diamond plate, but you are right in time it will dull, and I don't want it to cover the grafics on the front. I really dont care that much for the diamond plate, I saw it at my dealership, it was only 12" wide. Instead of putting more holes in my trailer I used decking material. ------------- If you want something done right, do it yourself. 2011 RP172, 2016 Tundra 5.7 Litre, Ltd. |

Hi Melp. It is something like duradeck. the stuff I used called deck-master produced by ducan.

I have been thinking, I think I will wait on adding the diamond plate to the front of the pod. It may not suffer as much as I think. I have a bad habit of when I start something new I go overboard, add this , modify that, etc, you know the deal. I think we will see how the front end fares the next couple of years, if it gets beat up, you can add the diamond plate later.
