We just brought our 2011 RP-172 home one week ago, still learning systems. I know I am going to have to winterize soon, but while I am going through the process should I try to wrap the water pump in foam leaving the top and bottom open for cooling ventilation, or will this cause pump overheating ?  it's really not that bad but (my wife says you cant leave anything alone, you always have to try to improve something) has any body got any tips on reducing noise on pump, mounting on rubber etc, thanks for any tips. Dane and Donna

That won't help. Pull it off the floor and put a mouse pad UNDER it. Then wrap the water LINES with flexible foam covers from the insulation dept of your local bigboxhardware store.
