Located the dealer closest to us (northern Colorado) and they have a 177 model (Hood River Edition) onnthe lot. All over now but the haggling :-)

Hey Foot S, I think I read that Hood River had higher clearance to get into rough areas, is that correct ? My wife and I just took delivery of a 11 RP-172 and have made a one day trial run, we love it and cant wait for the next outing, let us know how you come out, good luck, Dane and Donna

Haggling has begun. Indicated what I was willing to pay and the only "extra" I asked for was double batteries. Waiting for the return call.

dsmiths, the HR comes with the risers installed so it is higher by 3-4 inches. You can order the risers from FR (directly) and add them if you don't have them yet.

You already have the axle risers, so get them to throw in the R-Dome as part of the purchase.

According to my local dealer, the Hood River Edition has the 4" risers, diamond plate on front of trailer and larger 15" wheels and tires.  After doing a lot of reading on the Forums, I might suggest adding a second LP bottle and an auto cutover to the second bottle.  No running out of gas in the middle of camping or worse in the middle of the night.  Also might consider a longer sewer holder to accomodate a longer drain pipe.

====================

I've seen the 177 HRE close up and personal. Pretty sure that the axle riser adds 3" and the larger tires push it closer to 4"    ...but it probably really doesn't matter.
