Can I get by with a 2kw generator? My AC unit is 11k.

Barely, if you also install a hard start capacitor in your A/C. Otherwise, look to something like a http://www.yamaha-motor.ca/products/products.php?model=3547&class=33&group=G|&LANG=en - Yamaha EF2400iSHC .
