We camped at Saylorville with a friend this weekend.  Had a great weekend, except our friend got sick and spent the whole time in his camper asleep.  Lots of people liked the pod.  We all know that.  It rained and we stayed dry.  Always good.  Went to downtown Des Moines Farmers Market.  So enjoyable.  Also drove a little way north to High Trestle Bridge.  New bike bridge half way between 2 towns,  really beautiful.  Trail was nice wide cement.  It was so beautiful.

Looks GREAT, and so close to my hometown of Boone. Looks like a place to try this fall when we go up to visit my brother. Nice pictures . . .and bikers also! We did a total of 30 miles this weekend on the bikes (no camping though) and saw this beast along the road.

He was about 18-20 inches end to end on the shell . . .(I didn't get close enough to really measure)

Unlike the turtles in the fables, snappers can move pretty quickly and jump to bite. Usually they will give you a hiss or two as warning, but not always.

I really enjoy reading your trip posts. Thanks.
