Never thought this possible!

If you are Texas bound, more precisely in Arlington TX, and you wish to put-up your rpod dome awning while camping DON'T camp at TREETOP CAREFREE RV RESORT (1901 West Arbrook).

Why ???? you will not be allowed to put-up your awing.....apparently it's against the rules....the rpod dome according to management is classified as a tent!!!

Since I'm not one who stirs the molases....I complied....but at 38$ @ night......

The campground is superb and nothing wrong with the management....just thought I'd let you rpodders know about this policy.

Have a great one

Lou

Even if you tied the sides up?  I don't understand campgrounds like that, but you can vote with your wallet in the future...

We have been in private ones that you could not have anything off the concrete pad and the dome would have extended into the grass.
I like the state parks as they don't seem to have these concerns.

Looking at their website (pictures of Class-As only) and reservation system (can't reserve for tent trailers or tents), I'm not really surprised.

If the owners have decided that they'd rather not have tent-ers, I suspect that easy-ups and screen rooms are out too.  And frankly, I too would classify an r-dome as a tent as opposed to an awning.

I would have to argue with them about the Dome being a tent.  A tent can stand by it self and is completely enclosed.  The Dome can't.  But, I also think that they have their nose  up in the air and so consequently not worth arguing with.  I would go somewhere else.

I could see how/why the R-Dome get's confused as a tent.  Did you ask the CG as to why they have that policy?  You may have found that they didn't like the stakes in the ground or the fact that the R-Dome provided another room or.................................

Regardless, it's good info for folks in the future.

It's unbelievable !!
I hope that no one ever be against my R dome.

It's an object of curiosity and make discussions with people.
Its a good thing . I only had good words on my R dome .

It's sad for you this adventure.
