Trailer Tire Sources

I have an R-pod 180 and it's that time to buy new tires.

Two issues:

1.  ETrailer, the only company I could find that has these in stock, will not guarantee a minimum age of their tires.  Theoretically, they can send me two, six year old tires for $621.  Since these are shipped, I cannot check the date code before buying like I do on my car tires.

2.  Local dealers do not have a tire with the below specs and I cannot find an online source that has them in stock except for Etrailer.  Still searching.

Anybody have a good source for tires meeting the below specs (in stock) and can guarantee a minimum tire age?

ST235/75R15
Max load 2910 lbs @65 psi
Speed Rating L 75mph
Load Range D

Thank You

I went with Carlisle Radial Trail HD, load range D.  However, they don't come in ST235.  I went with ST225 on same rims and they are fine.  A number of friends did the same size change with Goodyear Endurance.

The first tire dealer would not guarantee a fresh tire and would not return it to warehouse.  I went to another dealer and they agreed to send back a tire if over a year old.  The pair of tires turned out to be 6 months old.

If you want to stay with 235, you might have to go with LT235 from Sams or Costco.  They are big enough to demand fresh tires from warehouse.

Where I live I purchased from Discount Tire, which by the way, guarantees fresh tires.  I , like James, went with Carlisle Radial Trail HD, load range "D" tires. They are equal or better, plus their warranty is 2x longer than goodyears.

When we replaced the tires on our Rpod, we went with LT tires in the 235 size, Falken Wild Peak to be exact. There's a lot of discussion on whether LTs should be used on campers. We had our tires replaced at a tire shop that serviced most of the RV shops in town.

My 2015 model 178 came with LT235 and was specified on name plate.  First replacement was a LT235 Toyo Open Country A/T.  These Toyo's were great tires.  Performed well on 7,000 mile round trip CA to AK.

After aging out, after six years and plenty of remaining tread, I really wrestled with replacing with LT or ST.  Decided to give ST a try with because of the higher load range D.
