Hi. New to the forum! We are looking at a used rpod tonight. But unfamiliar with rpods. Is there anything you’d recommend I look at in greater detail or focus? Any questions you think I should ask based on your rpod experiences? It is the original owner and they indicated they don’t use it very much.

Test everything: lights, fridge on all 2 or 3 options, HW on both electric and propane, microwave, stove, furnace, A/C - everything.  Stick your nose in storage pass-ways - check for smell of mold or any sight of darkened wood, indicating past water leaks.  Same goes for walls and ceilings inside, any darkened area will indicate water leakage from outside.  Are wheels straight up and down or do they tilt with the upper part of the tire leaning in toward the camper - indicating possible bent axle.  While testing all the above turn water pump on to check for leaks, while you are testing the above the pump should not turn on - if it does - water is possibly leaking somewhere.  While hooked up to tow vehicle, check outside lights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights.  Best wishes.

jato has it covered. Appliances are pretty standard through the industry so those can be fixed if there is a problem. Any signs of water damage, leakage and bent axles (wheels and tires not plumb to pavement) are red flags.

Thank you both. Very helpful. After inspection a few red flags re. Moisture. And they replace the front window but all around that front area the wallpaper is crinkling. Also a bald tire on the awning side but the other one looks brand new. Owner couldn’t explain it and tires are still original. It might be an electronic brake issue on that side??

Crinkling wallpaper is not a good sign.  Find someone that has a moisture meter and check wall around the window for moisture; likely there will be some and if that is the case i would pass as mold already has a head start in that enclosed area.  Bald tire, may indicate axle issue, see if it stands straight up from behind like the other tire, otherwise it is an indication of a tweaked axle.

Agree with Jato. Unless this is an amazing deal and you are pretty handy, You might stay away from this one based what's going on around the front window. If the axle is bent, an axle shop may be able to correct that by bending it back, but torsion axles are tricky. A replacement axle is around $500 plus installation.
