We're new to the R-Pod, and honestly we have seldom camped together in a trailer.
Honestly, Tina and I have only camped in a trailer (rented) together with our kids a few times when they were growing up.
Background: I grew up in the late 70s/early 80s camping in remote places with my family, usually associated with hunting/fishing/motorcycle trail riding. Tina grew up seldom (if ever) camping. Neither from well to do families (though my mother tried).
for the last 30 plus years, we've done mostly tent camping, most often associated with girl or boy scouting expeditions. and later with being cast members at "RenFaire" events (with our tent being part of the setting).
After all that we know how to make the creature comforts, the first coffeemaker in the morning, real meals instead of faire food, how to make a few of our own comforts from (lumber yard) scratch.
We're nearing retirement, and we want to wind down and find a little bit of consistency. We (I) don't want to go glamping, but keep it simple, and get back to nature, hear the crickets and the birds...
Personally, though I have experienced all the parts of hunting, fishing, taking game, etc... I'd rather watch an elk walk through camp, or watch a trout creek run... than harvest it's bounty (I guess being a technician with a grocery store nearby has softened me).
I just want to go for a walk with my favorite thing in my left hand (Tina's hand) and maybe a leash in the other, quietly watch the pines swaying in the breeze, and relax over a game of cards...
now THAT seems like heaven to me...
(Note that Tina and I have been married for 37 plus years, and tent camping for several hundred times together would not be a stretch)

Interesting as we are 238 miles north of Hell, Michigan and 151 miles south of Paradise, Michigan.  Nice write up, we have enjoyed our 177 for 14 years, usually off-grid boondocking with our two 12v batteries (14 yr. old Interstate deep cycle and 4.5 yr. old Trojan 1275) without utilizing solar or a generator.  Now is the time to enjoy the rewards of retirement and spend more time together making great memories in the process as you experience the many splendors of creation in this great country.  For us in northern Michigan we received another dose of reality this morning with 2" of snow and it is still snowing right this moment.  Yet spring is on the way and we, like you, look forward to getting out on the trail with our pods and enjoy the beauty around us.  Best wishes upon your retirements.
