Anyone still use a CB while on the road?

I did for about 15 years, but haven't had one installed for the last 8.  It definitely saved me a few dozen times, including getting directions around bad traffic and the 20 on the latest smokey.  Terry here still uses his CB.

The kids in our area have resurrected the CB and love using them again.

Craig has one that we have listened to while on trips.   It can get interesting esp when traffic problems present themselves.

Iteach5th:  If you are serious about getting another CB radio, I have one that I will make you a deal on.  It was a spur of the moment purchase for me but like many other things, the thrill didn't last long.  I'm sure I still have all of the original items (instructions, mounting bracket and hardware, etc.) I do NOT have the original box it came in.  If you are interested, I will go out to my building tomorrow and find it and get all it's details such as model number, brand and a price for you.  It is mint condition, I only had it in the truck for a couple of weeks before packing it up in a box.

Let's go camping!

I got rid of my old CB when I sold my Jeep Wrangler.  However, while traveling out west (Montana) last year I found my cellphone was essentially useless over much of the state (not just in valleys).  Talking to others who camp/travel a lot in the West, many of them had CB's for emergency use.
So I now have a CB installed in my Pod-hauler.  I didn't need a CB with side-band and all the bells and whistles which are available.  I bought a CB which could be plugged into a 12V power socket rather than trying to wire into a circuit.  Total cost with antenna was less than $100.
