Need new tires for my dual axle RPOD 202. I am told Goodyear Endurance are the best but they are more expensive than Carlise (now Carlstar?) tires. 225 by 15 tires. Opinions?

Never been a fan of goodyears and won't discuss here. Regardless I have been extremely pleased with the Carlisle Radial Trail HD, load range "D" which is my current set of shoes. Currently they are 4 years old, have about 20,000 miles and tread still looks nearly new. As with any tire, they will age out before the tread does, unless you have a severe issue such as a bent axle where camber is way off. IMHO Carlisle is an equivalent to gye with the exception that the warranty on Carlisle is 2x longer than what is offered on goodyears.

I went to the GY Endurance on my last tire change. Only have about 2K miles on them so I can't say if they are wearing well or not. Way more expensive than the Carlisles, but wanted to give them a try as they get good reviews on the Escape forum. I had Carlisle Radial Trails and they wore well until our axles got bent. Can't expect any tire to hold up to poor alignment.

Guess what I am asking is whether the approximately (in my city) extra $60 per tire for the Goodyears is worth it in comparison to the Carlise tires. We only use our trailer maybe one month per year, stored in cover rest of the year. Still have three original tires plus one new tire but AAA came to our rescue when we had the flat but that tells me it's time to change.

Both tires are perfectly capable. If you want to save a $120 bucks, go with the Carlisles. With the light usage you indicate, your tires will most likely age out before they wear out.

Totally agree with gpokluda. The most mileage i have ever put on a set of tires over 5 years is 24,000 miles and even after that, the tread looked nearly new. I try to change sets (all 3 tires every other change) every 5 years per manufacture recommendation.
