just a 2024 update since the other ft pickens / pensacola topic was closed -
good place for hiking / exploring / bicycles, and of course camping except anything on loop "b" where it is full sun and no shade areas. . . public restrooms and showers available {average quality for national park camping}, bring your own hand soap and toilet paper just in case they run out -- bathrooms are only serviced once a day in the morning . "A" Loop has laundry machines $2.25 quarters, the app to pay online was not working (july2024). A long, narrow island, you can easily walk to either the Bay side or the Gulf side from the campground. . Lots of military history from the civil war up to WWII. . The ft pickens store is not near the campground has has very limited hours. There is a ferry that runs to the downtown are of pensacola a couple times a day, not cheap. . .
The campground has mostly electric sites with 50amp 30amp, and 120volt outlets. . . water faucets at each camp spot for your hose. . . There are rv dump stations at each campground exit. . . There is good cell phone service, and at least 30 TV channels available via antenna
The campground is approx 9miles from "civilization", so get gas & groceries before leaving the pensacola area.
Taking a quick tour -- the "better" quality camp spots {meaning shade spots, and larger lot size, etc} in no particular order =
