so on my old pop up i had a wheel under my tongue jack, but i was wondering about installing some kind of foot under the pod instead....any suggestions?

Not sure about the tube diameter, but this is what I bought. It is my understanding, that these people are the manufacturers of the jack on the R-Pod to begin with. I have a round foot that slips under the jack when in use. I toss it in the back of the truck when underway. I found it in a clearance bin at the local RV store, no packaging, I think it cost me $2. Even new, they're pretty inexpensive.

Before I found that I used a chunk of treated 3/4" plywood I had around the shop.

I just use a 8" long piece of 2x6 under my tongue jack. I've got a couple of them and also use them under the stabilizers when the ground is soft/sandy. ------------- Craig :: 2009 RP171 towed by a 2017 F150 |

I made a foot for our POD. It is about 6 inches x 6 inches square. I just use some old flat steel, about 3/32nds of an inch thick cut to 6x9 inches, rolled the front and back ends over a piece of 1/2 inch rod for support. Then welded a couple of pieces of 3/4 inch angle that I cut about 4 inches long to 2 pieces of 1/8 inch thick metal that I cut to 3 inches x4 inches high. The angle was welded to the 3x4 pieces with the 3 inch side centered to one side of the angle iron. These 2 halves were then clamped together with the foot of the angle iron facing out and I drilled 2 holes in them. These holes I centered and started at 1 inch down from the top and the other about 2 inches below that. I believe that I used a 7/16th inch drill bit, so that a 3/8 inch bolt would easily slide through the holes. I then welded these uprights to the base plate with the angle running from on rolled up end to the other with an extra 1/4 inch over the width of the jack tube. The holes in the jack tube I believe are 3/8 of an inch.
I would send a picture but dumb me I never thought to take one of the foot. Our POD is hibernating in a cave and I did not plan to go get it until mid April.
I can tell you that I love the foot, it is easy to slide it on the ground to line it up with the hitch and it adds a lot of stability when all of the stabilizer jacks are used.
I do take it off when we are on the road because it does get in the way of the chains and does hang a little lower than I like when on the road. It only takes a few seconds to put it on or remove it.

i appreciate the detailed response, but i'm not a welder! lol. at any rate i am finding a lot of options now online but really need to know the tube diameter size if anyone might have that info handy?

Yes, that is what is referred to as a 2" jack tube. Here is what I bought from Camping World. I leave it on all the time.

I replaced the factory jack with a swing-up jack which includes a wheel.

If you keep the factory (OEM: Domar) jack and want to use a jack wheel... contact Domar...the price cannot be beat and the wheel actually fits the Domar jack! (I learned the hard way!, after market wheels didn't fit correctly and cost more than the Domar wheel) ------------- TIDALWAVE |

If we have ever need to replace our jack I think that I would replace it with the fulton that has two wheels. I find the single wheels are difficult to swivel to make a turn. The fulton jack and a fiberglass propane tank are on my list for the possible future.
