I have had the rpod parked in my driveway since day one.  Am strongly considering parking it in a secured lot 2 miles from home.  $60 bucks a month.  Seem reasonable?  Guess I would like my driveway back!!!!  jon

That's about half what we were paying when we rented storage space.

We park our trailer at the side of our house, just outside the garage.  Have been doing that since we got ourPod.  Makes maintenance easy and tinkering can be almost unlimited.  Loading for a quick camping trip is a breeze.

Curious Jon as to why consider parking your pod 2 miles away when you have been parking it in your driveway.  I am obviously missing something here like, "Did somebody steal your driveway?" or something like that.

I forgot to add:  We have a ready made guest house when it's parked at home.

Several of our traveling friends have to park their trailers in a off site storage lot with no power or water.. They all complain about how much of a pain it is to do maintenance, pack, or even keep batteries charged. Several have reported thefts or damage.
But, they have no choice as for different reasons they cannot keep it at their home.
Luckily we can store our unit next to our shop and can't imagine having to drive to get to the pod.
Think about the move-I assume you have good reasons to consider it. You may have the option to try storing it remotely and if it doesn't work you can bring her back home.
Travel safe and often

now you guys got me all bummed about considering this!!Embarrassed  intial reasoning is that i'm getting some worked done on the driveway.  i have a couple slabs and a step that have settled a bit, so getting them jacked.  i could park it for a week at my neighbors house however.  but then i was thinking i could then park my truck in my driveway again!!  i now park on the street.  i have thought about all the conveniences of leaving it here at the house.  it would be a 6 month committment for the storage spot.  ok, now i have to think about this!!  good conversation.  jon

Jon,  Thanks for the clarification.  So do you live in a subdivision where you are limited as to where to park your 177  or do you have more room so it could be parked elsewhere on your property?  It is great to have neighbors who are willing to help out; personally I would take your neighbor up on their offer, even it is only for a week to buy you some time to look at any other options that are out there.

We keep the Gastropod in a rented outdoors slot in a secured lot two miles from the house nine months of the year for about that much. The other three months it's in our driveway with food, batteries, shore power and disrespectful birds, getting loaded and unloaded, worked on, shown off, and used.

Never had a problem, but there isn't much criminal mischief around here and lots full of more expensive outfits. Ours looks puny in among them, like a shack among the rich folks' houses.

yup jato, i live in a subdivision.  biggest mistake of my life not getting some property when i was younger.  will always regret that.  i too am definately doubting the storage area idea, and will definately take up my neighbor on his offer and think this more thru.  thanks, jon

We keep ours in our back driveway (we live in an older part of town with an alley in the back). The only thing that I wish we had was shade - its on the south side of the house and the sun gets brutal back there. It is more convenient to have it close by, but it is a challenge to back it into the space from an alley!

We park our RV on a military base where I work for $40 a month. Inexpensive plus it's guarded by America's finest with big guns. That said, I would rather have the trailer in our driveway however our HOA won't allow it. One of those regrettable decisions we made several years ago when we bought our house.
