Looking for specific information about what people have installed to replace the plastic pantry shelf strips in a 196. The plastic is too flimsy.

The only shelf I had a problem with was the top shelf so what I did was to put a 12 inch 1x12x1/4 piece of wood against the plastic in the front and the back. I can't move the top shelf up or down now but that's OK.

I had those crappy plastic shelf brackets too. eventually they cave in. I replaced them with something similar to these items. And these are the clips that you can adjust the heights with to hold the shelves.

I got them on amazon, but you can buy them at lows. after 4 summers of piling all kinds of stuff on these units, never had one issue. I also used these to make shelves in the bedside wardrobes. I had 4 shelves to seperate shirts, pants, socks, and sweatshirts. Way more usable with shelves. I will be doing this again in my new unit.
