The sides of the dinette in our 180 don't feel too secure, I noticed they added three screws on each side on the new 180. Very carefully I drilled pilot holes in my dinette seat sides and put #8-1" lath screws
into support frame and it seemed to make the sides more secure, without reducing integrity. My interior is white, the new 180 was dark brown it is a little hard to see three screws in picture.

Nice colour match, the screws look like they belong.

I had to do similar work on the door side dinette seat as well.

I needed to redo the floor screws, as the ones they put in were screwed into holes in the floor that were too large.

As well I needed to add L shaped brackets to reinforce the horizontal wood structure inside the seat at all the accessible corners, top and bottom.

Now we can use the seat without it wobbling.

I still need to replace the plastic mounts for the steel tubes that the table sits on. Junk light weight plastic.

Have a good one,

Andy

Thanks the L brackets may be the next addition. I will check out the table legs too.

Keep your stick on the ice(we watch Red Green a lot).

If screwing into the light wood pieces, I would recommend marking and pre-drilling the holes to prevent them from splitting when the wood screws are installed.

There are a lot of Red Green fans out there, which is great! I think we can all use a bit more humour in our day.

If the women don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy.
