Sorry if this has been covered but searches did not work.

Experiencing a loss of DC power from the batteries. I have 2 12V batts in parellel. DC V test gives 12.8 V for both batteries. Charging the batteries from both house power and battery charger does not change the DC V number on the multimeter or seem to charge- No power in cabin after a day charging. If I disconnect batteries and plug into shore - everything works great.

Thought it could be converter but seems like batteries are good - direct charging with battery charger produces same results. Even took one into the parts store and they tested said the battery was good. Seems like a problem from battery to the panel where the fuses and breakers are? Is there a way to test to see if power is hitting the panel? I can see 6 gauge white wire and 2 red wires connected. Is there a a way to test if power is making it from the batteries?

Thank you!

Derek

Sure, disconnect from 120Vac and from your solar charge controller if you have one. Then the only voltage source will be your 12V house batteries. Probe between a good chassis ground point and your fuses with your voltmeter to see whether you're getting voltage anywhere. I'd suspect one or the other of the reverse polarity fuses at the panel has blown, or either the positive or negative battery leads have become disconnected somewhere. That could be right at the battery posts or where the battery negative connects to the chassis.
