We have been over many bumpy roads, but on this trip, I guess there was one bump too many. My wife went to turn on the light in the bathroom and it did not come on. I thought that the light had gone bad. On the RP-170 that we have, there are four screws holding it to the ceiling. When I took it down, I found that it is a sealed unit, not a fixture with a replaceable bulb. I put it back up and then (after I had purchased a battery operated LED light to use), thought that I should check the switch.

The switch is held in by two screws and apparently, some adhesive on the switch plate. I succeeded in removing the switch and found the real problem. One of the two terminal connectors had fallen off. It is the terminal with two wires. I slid it back on, but it seemed a bit loose. Since I did not want it to fall off again, I used a pair of needle-nose pliers to pinch the terminal connector so that it was very tight when I put it back on. That was the fix.

So, if you have a light that is not working, either outside or bathroom that has the same type switch, check the connections if the light is not working.
