I am planning to top-up the wheel bearing grease as part of my winter maintenance using the zerk fittings. The 2019 trailer (purchased new in 2020) has less than 2000 miles on it. The wheel bearings have never been serviced. I will be using Valvoline Val-Plex which is one of the products recommended by Lippert. Everything I read says never to mix two types of grease, but I do not really want to clean and repack the bearings at this point. Given that I will be using a product recommended by Lippert is it safe to assume that it is compatible with whatever they originally used at the factory? Or does anyone know what brand the factory grease is?

Pull the cap off and look at the color of the grease. If it is red, use red grease. If it is green, use green grease. It seems like the factory uses whatever is available, so don't assume that the red lithium based grease is what is in there.

Rather than try to match old with new grease I would completely clean the bearings, cups and all other on the spindles and start with the grease you have picked out. Hand pack it and keep track of the grease used then from year to year you can either add to or repack, depending on your level of maintenance you wish to put forth.
