Here's an interesting little item for anyone with $7.5k burning a hole in your pocket.

Wow that is impressive!  All I need is to spend some extra $$ being in northern Michigan so that the sun can burn through all the cloud cover that is quite common in this part of the country.

That is sure interesting and it looks like it will also provide some shade on a sunny day but it doesn't look like it will provide much protection from the rain if you choose to sit outside while it's raining and you're not getting any solar gain.  Everything has it's short comings.

Yes, solar modules are not waterproof, it's difficult to get a good deal between the glass and the framing material. There are some waterproof solar roofs but they use expensive glazing systems like those used to provide rainproof seals on sunrooms, and they don't retract. This one is a pretty nice design though, but as you say, you can't have everything.

Unique for certain, by it plays towards the Glamper.. Take the cost of Panels + Batteries + System = 1 heck of a lot of KOA stays (gas included to get there). LOL

Yep $7.50 a watt is to much. Just wait for the Chinese knock off for $1 a watt, at which point it will be competitive with a standard motorized awning.

That $$ is early buy-in! Love it when they do this.. attempt sales before the product is actually being produced.. at a "reduced" $$..

You know someone will buy in!

Thank you early adopters! Without them where would we be?
