Putting our 2021 171 to bed for the winter.   In two months of ownership, I haven't been able to figure out how to turn off the solar panel controller.   Even w the battery kill switch in the off postion (ie..no power)...it lights up and blinks.   So much to learn so far...I've just been covering it at night for sleep purposes.   But I assume it has to be draining the battery if its lighting up??   We dont have panels yet and are not utilizing solar at this point (a project for next spring).   How do i get the controller to completely shut off?

if it's lighting up with a kill switch off and no shore power connection then presumably the controller's connection to the battery bypasses the kill switch. It has to be getting power somewhere.

Look for another pair of wires connected directly to the battery terminals. Disconnect the +12v one and see it that does the trick.

Once you install solar you will probably want the controller connected even with the kill switch off so that the battery stays charged up from your solar module (assuming you store the trailer where it gets done sun). In the meantime be sure to keep your batteries charged over the winter, either via shore power or by taking them hone for storage and tickle charging them.
