our 179 is not charging the batteries while driving or plugged in

Those are completely different charging systems and likely both havent failed simultaneously, so either the battery is disconnected, (do your12v apliances run when you aren't plugged in or towing?), or you have an excessive load somewhere that is taking all the current so the battery can't charge (check to see if everything is off especially the fridge is not on 12v and the breakaway brake pin isn't pulled), or your battery isn't taking a charge (how old is it and what voltage does it read when not charging?).
