Hello Everyone!
I have a 2015 Rpod 176T. recently the black tank cracked on the top of it. My RV repair center has the trailer and are saying the cant find one unless it is around $250 and 4-6 weeks wait on delivery.
Does this sound right? I have never had to replace a holding tank before.

Neither have I but the price seems high unless that includes installation. There are 30 gallon RV waste water tanks on the web for around $100, but you'd have to remove your old tank, get the dimensions, including drain, fill, and vent sizes and locations, and then call to see if they can match those. Compared to getting into all of that maybe $250 doesn't sound so bad....

If the price is installed, it may not be that bad. If they do a good job........How did the top of the tank get cracked? Seems like that is fairly protected. It is not a pressurized system, maybe you could patch the crack with some epoxy? Some "modern" compounds do not stick to plastics well.

Polyethylene is notoriously hard to adhere anything to. You need a high quality flexible epoxy like West Systems gflex (not cheap) and you should flame treat the poly surfaces first. It still won't ever be a really strong bond. And you also have to carefully stop drill the crack so it (hopefully) doesn't propagate. To do all that you have to take the tank out to try to fix it, nasty and stinky as it is, then put it back and hope for the best. For all those reasons I wouldn't advise trying to fix it.
