On out last camping trip I forgot our surge guard for our land electrical. All electrical connected. I was connecting our dish in accordance with their procedure. When I connected the interior cable connection to the exterior satellite connection at the wall I got a static pop. The dish work the last time we used it and did not work after that. I bout 2 types of line static cable arrestees. They might interfere with the dish signal. Any ideas of things to check. Just bought another dish and do not want it to happen again.

I would suspect a bad ground on your shore power. It could have been at the pedestal.
