Well i got shot twice with water today once when i did not release pressure on water heater when i took the anode rod out i got sprayed. I made a mental note for next year. I also got it from my city inlet when i released the pressure from it. The last thing i did was to open low water drains BEFORE i pumped in the antifreeze it all went on driveway another mental note i had another gallon so was ok. I got it done but with a few words to myself. I know i am not the only one that this has happened to and that makes me feel better.

After getting sprayed trying to remove the anode rod without releasing the water pressure first...
I took an indelible marking pen and printed the following on the water heater adjacent to the anode rod:
WATER PRESSURE/AC SWITCH?

Just seeing the message gets me to think about what I am trying to do.

I no longer get sprayed and nor have to worry about burning out the AC electric rod.

Good idea. I used to have similar reminders to myself in a couple of places on my boat too.
