I have a 2021 rpod 196 that came prewired for Go Power solar. I've done my research, and would like to purchase the Go Power Overlander solar kit, which includes a 190 watt panel and controller.

It looks like the panel plugs in easily enough on the roof.  My question is - what's behind the Go Power controller sticker that's on the wall near the door?

It it plug and play or simply loose wires?

Is there anything else I  need to do once I hook up the controller and panel to get my battery to start charging?

Lastly - did you find that the solar sticker on the wall was actually placed in the correct spot?  I don't want to start cutting needless holes in my wall!

Thanks muchly!

I have the same unit (2021 196) and we chose the overlander kit. So, behind the sticker are many wires running down and up, some run the switches and monitors on the wall. One set is a red and black pair, 10 gauge written on wire, and these come from the roof solar port and travel out to the battery area. It's an easy upgrade. The sticker location was a good spot for installing the controller. You will cut the wires and install into the label spots on controller.

Remember to cover the panel while you work on the wiring, and use the supplied 30 amp fuse near battery.

On mine I found two pairs of black and red wires, just hanging loose, not connected or protected in the cabinet behind the sticker, and the radio.

One pair leads to the MC4s on the roof, one pair goes to the battery up front.

Yours might be different but that's a place to start.

'Wired for Solar' sounds all warm and fuzzy, but really, it ain't much.
