Good Morning! Well, just about to take maiden voyage with our RPod 180 and fridge goes crazy with continuous beep and flashing lights. We’re plugged into shore power. What could be wrong?

Maybe you could give us a little more info-
Is the fridge cold inside? or did it start malfunctioning as soon as you plugged it to shore power?
how long was it plugged in before it started beeping and flashing?specifically, what is flasing-the red triangle or other lights/numbers. the red light will flash if the fridge is set to propane and it will not light. It will try to light several times and then go to red flash.
Is the propane on? Have you set the fridge to propane or electric or battery(assume it is a 3 way or is it only 2 way?)?
the fridge will beep if the door is not completely closed.
maybe someone can help with more details
good luck
Vann

I'm assuming you have the smaller 3 way fridge and not the larger 2 way fridge some rpods come with now.

Several things could be wrong. The specific sequence of lights and alarm sounds can be used to decode it. Google "Dometic RM8500 manual" and look at the troubleshooting section.

Most likely you are having a problem with the 120V heating element not getting hot, which could just be a breaker needing to be reset. Change over to propane or 12v operation and see if that stops the alarm.

The RPod has been in its current location long-term so the fridge has been on shore power for months. We tried putting it on battery and the red triangle and the blue plug stopped blinking and the beeping stopped. I don’t want to wear down the battery as we’re leaving to go on the road today so I currently have fridge turned off. Also just noticed that the outlets on that side of the trailer aren’t working!

+1 to OG's suggestion to check breakers.  If the breaker is not tripped, then it could also be a loose connection to the breaker or the neutral buss bar that needs tightening.

Yep, tripped breaker. If the microwave works then it's probably the gfci. Reset all the breakers in the panel, reset the gfci and see it that clears it.

You can also run the fridge from propane while on the road. In fact you should try it anyway to be sure that's working.

Thanks you! The fridge and outlet problem was a gfci. It gets reset at the outlet in front of the bed of all places!
