Fired up our brand new fridge for the second time on propane and after about 30 minutes was greeted with a most unpleasant smell emitting from the top exhaust screen as all 3 of my muffin fans were running.  Kind of reminded me a bit of when our 10 year old fridge bit the biscuit last fall with an ammonia leak.  The smell lasted for over 3 hours and then went away, must have been oils and who knows what else burning off the new unit.  Ran it for 8 hours on the 3rd button.  Starting temp was 61 and after 8 hours the temp read 36 so it seems at this point it is good to go.  Also replaced the gaskets that fits along the top and sides of the fridge to keep out CO as the detector went off when our old one died. Gasket along the base appeared good.

I'm glad you mentioned the gasket....I had to put duct tape around the entire fridge on mine to keep out the cold breezes...I think the factory forgot to seal mine up (in the interior of the wooden cabinet) from the outside air.
