We are buying a 2021 Hood River Edition R Pod 193.  I measured the trailer at the dealership and the bottom of the hitch was right around 21" (there was a lot of snow on the ground).  Does that sound right?  I was thinking it would be lower.

Secondly, the height of my truck's (Tundra 2017) receiver tube is 19".  So based on the measurements I will need a ball mount that rises 2"?

I've been trying to find the level hitch height of a HRE R Pod but have been unsuccessful.  Any help is appreciated.

No good way to really know for sure until you hitch up and get the rig on completely level ground. Just too many variables. Also the rear of the truck will drop some from the hitch weight, which will in turn depend on how you load both the trailer and truck. So I’d suggest just getting something to get the rig home and finalizing things after loading and going to a nice flat parking lot with a level and tape measure.

You might want to consider getting a weight distribution hitch as well. Not really necessary for that truck but you might like the ride and handling better.

Thanks for the info Offgrid.  I have been on the fence about buying an adjustable ball mount, I think am going to go for it.

Many of the WDH's have a a ball height adjustment.  Even with a stout truck like the Tundra, you'll probably find it more comfortable to use one.

+1 to what lostagain says. The WDH will address any headlight issues, and all the ones I know of have an adjustable hitch height. I also prefer the way the trailer rides with the WDH connected.

I do not have a WDH but I do use and adjustable ball hitch with friction anti-sway, the saw ball is built into the hitch.
