Hello all,

When hooked up to city water, does some water go into the fresh water tank? I ask because my fresh water tank was empty before our last trip, and we used only city water, but after the trip I took the fresh water drain loose and was surprised by the large volume of water that ran out.

Thanks!

It's not supposed to AFAIK as I have only hooked up to city and haven't noticed it filling the FW tank.

It's a somewhat common thing that isn't supposed to happen. The water line has a check valve on it that will sometimes get stuck open, and the city water flows into the fresh water tank. Normally if you disconnect from city water, and turn the water pump off and on several times, it will free the check valve and you can resume using city water.

I have a 2019 179 and on mine there is a one way valve incorporated into the water pump (discharge side) that some times does not seal completely and thus when on city water supply you might get some back flow into the fresh water tank.  This has happened to many on the forum and the easiest fix seems to be to shut off the incoming city water and run the water pump a "couple" of times, that seems to allow the one way valve on the water pump to reseat itself and temporarily correcting the problem.  Just something more to keep your eye on.  Hope this helps

Ah, thanks! That makes since, I will give that a try. I also noticed some small white plastic shavings that came out of the fresh water tank as well. Since the pod is new, I am thinking that this is construction debris? Or the pump is self-destructing? It has only been run at the dealer's lot. I may need to also check the screen near the pump for debris as well?

Thanks again!

Yes, debris is normal, and you'll continue to find it for awhile. You'll probably encounter a blocked faucet in the near future. Just remove the aerator and screen and clean it out. After 2 years, I still find dust on the counters everytime we move it. Both pods I've owned were the same way.
