We have an 2015 178 and this our first camper. I followed the directions in the manual as far as emptying all of the water out of the tanks and systems, and blowing out the water through the inlet with an air compressor. I poured rv anti-freeze down the drains. I did not pump antifreeze through the lines. I see both ways mentioned, but if I got all of the water out of the lines do I really need to pump antifreeze through them as well?

As long as you were careful to blow out ALL the faucets with compressed air one at a time then no need to also pump antifreeze through them. Don't forget the low point drains, toilet flush, and outside shower.

Personal choice. I see you are from Michigan, what part may I ask. We are north of Traverse City and for the past 8 years have used the air compressor method. After that I use a total of 16 oz. pink RV antifreeze for the 1 shower and 2 sink traps and leave a little for the top of the toilet to keep the seal moist throughout the winter. No breaks or leaks ever. Maybe you would want to check your filter on the downstream side of your water pump to be safe. It is a small glass or plastic bowl that is unscrewed by hand. I use a lot of pressure when blowing out so it has never been a problem, but this being your first time - a good thing to check.

@jato, I am in Traverse City, pretty close to you! I will check that filter on the water pump. Thanks for the advice.

Melissa,
I also own a 15 178, and have used air pressure for 4 years. If the water is clear from the lines and you have also cleared the toilet valve, you will be fine. I do put a small amount of antifreeze in the traps and the toilet bowl. Works fine. AND you don't have to clear the antifreeze from the lines when season begins or move your water heater valves. Make sure you empty and clean out your water heater.

When blowing out all of the lines, do you also need to blow out the low point drains? And after completion I assume you leave the low point drains and fresh water tank drain open? Thanks!

Leave the low point drains open. On warm days warm moist air will be drawn into the system. As the temperature drops that moisture will condense out and fall to the low points. You want that water to drip out, not collect there.
