When I purchased my rp189 it had already been winterized. We are in Virginia and are using it, we have been not hooking to water and using facilities for bathroom and cleaning. I want to use the rpod's systems and rewinterize it when we are done. The hot water heater is bypassed so if I hook up water from campgrounds it won't fill my tank? If the water is hooked up will the toilet get flushing water?

Yes and yes. You can go ahead and take the water heater out of bypass mode, then open a hot water tap to fill it (assuming you are connected to city water). Open the water heater door to be sure the anode rod (large hex bolt at bottom of tank) is installed and tightened, some folks leave it loose for the winter. Be sure the water heater is full (no more air coming out the taps) before turning it on. If you’re on ac power you can turn on the heating element by being sure both the outside switch on the tank and the circuit breaker in the panel are on. The tank switch is on the outside left side of the tank and is a bit hidden from view. City water should not fill your fresh water tank.

Thanks. Really don't see any point in winterizing until December and we may be taking it to Florida so it won't need to be done at all this year.
